Jewel of Muslim Art is an authentic World Heritage masterpiece, located in Agra, India, is a mausoleum, an eternal monument to a man’s love for his favorite wife. Moreover, it is eternal evidence of scientific and artistic achievements of an empire full of wealth.

It is said that 20,000 stone sculptors, masons and artists from India, Turkey and Iraq were employed under the command of architects to build the Taj Mahal in the lush gardens on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra. They completed the epic task between 1631 and 1648.

The interior of the mausoleum is a stunning (and smaller) space that implores a little exploration with tranquility. But a good part of any visit to the Taj Mahal will be devoted to contemplating the building from the outside. The pristine white marble of the mausoleum changes color and hue to suit the exterior environment; a transformation so charming that it is worth looking at and spending time observing the building in different conditions, like the pink glow of the sunset or the magical light of a full moon.
