ITINERARY:

Day 1

¡We got to Trujillo! known as the “city of eternal spring” or “capital of the sailor”, is one of the main tourist destinations of the northern Peruvian area. It is a tourist city that preserves its colonial architecture, considered among other titles capital of the sailor and cradle of the typical Peruvian Paso Horse.

FULL DAY TRADITIONAL TRUJILLO (Huacas of the sun and moon, Chan Chan and Huanchaco)

Shifts: 10:30-6:30PM

Duration: 8 hours approx

10:40 am We go to the countryside of Moche and appreciate the way of life of the night owls, both in their crafts, expressed in the manufacture of ceramics, leather works, carved wood and stone, basketry, and others, as in their gastronomy.  It also allows us to appreciate the landscape where their traditional crops and family gardens stand out

Finally we arrived at the HUACAS DEL SOL Y DE LA LUNA, considered as a Mochica sanctuary constituted by a group of monuments that physically represented the capital of the Mochica Culture from the first century A. C. to the ninth century.

2:30pm Then we continue to CHANCHAN, composed of 9 citadels or palaces. Each one has similar formal characteristics: its monumental scale, very restricted access, the complexity and elaboration of its architectural forms. And then towards the cove of Huanchaco, traditional fishing port where the famous “Caballitos de Totora” are located Here you can stroll on the caballitos de totora (optional)

Day 3

Breakfast

Huaca Rajada + Tomb of the Lord of Sipan (Monday-Friday)

Shift: 6:30 am – 10:00 pm

Duration: 16 hours approx

6:30 am Departure from Trujillo to the city of Chiclayo by bus.

10:00 am Arrival to the city of Chiclayo.

10:15am We head to Lambayeque to visit the Royal Tombs Museum of the Lord of Sipan, where it shows the remains of a ruler of ancient Peru. Beyond the wealth and splendor in ornaments, emblems and outfits of rank belonging to the character we call the “Lord of Sipan”It was possible to bring to the present a valuable information to reconstruct the original history of one of the most important cultures of Pre-Columbian America.

Lunch time

3pm: Visit the Rajada huaca, located in the town of Sipán 30 Km. from Chiclayo. This place belongs to the Moche culture and is considered to have been the most important ceremonial center of the northern area. The site is composed of two platforms that were built with solid blocks of adobe, At its top each had an altar. The main platform would have been about 35 meters high. The cemetery is located on one side and also at the time had the appearance of a platform. However, this mausoleum had six levels or construction phases. Each level corresponded to a main character. The Lord of Sipan and the Priest, for example, were buried in the sixth level. The SITE MUSEUM is also visited

5 pm Then we visit the Paseo Las Musas, which is decorated with gardens with beautiful flowers and whose main attraction is a monument of roundabouts ornamented with Hellenic sculptures. And finally El Paseo Yortuque which is one of the most emblematic works of the city of Chiclayo.

Then a panoramic view of the Paseo de Yortuque, which has more than a kilometer and a half of extension. Here we can find sculptures measuring from one and a half meters to more than 6 meters high that together with some murals represent the various historical periods of its population. Such as the Lithic-Archaic period where art manifests as the Petroglyphs; the Formative period where the Cupisnique culture manifests.

6:00 p.m. Return to Chiclayo

6:30 pm Return to Trujillo

10:00 PM Arrival to Trujillo and transfer to the hotel
